Sherman County Vistas

Gordon Ridge

West of Moro and Wasco, Gordon Ridge offers a spectacular vista of checkerboard fields north and south, with the purple Goodnoe Hills and Mt. Adams across the Columbia River to the north and the Deschutes River rushing below steep canyon walls, with Mt. Hood in the distance, to the west. Access the ridge off Van Gilder Road from Moro or Highway 206 to Gordon Ridge Road.

Highway 97

Highway 97, which starts in the California town of Weed, crosses two main ridges in Sherman County on its way to Alaska. From these ridges, travelers get stunning views of the snow-capped Cascade Range.

Highway 97 south of Wasco offers a ridge-top view of wind farms to the east.
