Property Tax Payment Options

Pay by Mail — When paying by mail, please return the lower portion of your tax statement(s) with your payment.  Check and Money Orders payable to “Sherman County Tax Collector” are accepted.  Do not send cash through the mail.  Receipts are issued when a stamped, self-addressed envelope is included with payment otherwise your cancelled check is your receipt.  Mail payments to:

Be sure to mail your payment early enough to be postmarked on or before November 15.  Payments postmarked November 16 and later lose all discounts and are charged interest.

Pay in Person — Cash, check, money orders and major credit/debit cards are accepted at the Sherman County Tax Collector’s Office, 500 Court Street in Moro, during regular business hours:  8 a.m. to 12 p.m.  and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Pay by Telephone — Payments by debit/credit cards or e-checks can be made by calling 1 (844) 323-4116.  These payments are processed through Point & Pay and may not be reflected on your balance owing for up to three business days.  Convenience Fees apply (see below).

Pay Online — Major credit cards, debit cards, and e-checks are accepted.  Payments submitted online are processed through Point & Pay and may not reflect on your balance owing for up to three business days.  Multiple accounts may be paid in one transaction; just select “Add More Items to Cart” below the amount. Refer to the top right-hand corner of your statement for the 1- to 5-digit Reference Number (Ref# xxxxx).  This number will be requested when making a payment online or by phone. Convenience Fees apply (see below).

Payment Returns — If your check, credit/debit card, or e-check payment is returned/cancelled, a $25 processing fee is added to your tax account.  Loss of discount and/or accrual of interest may occur.  Future payments also may need to be made in cash or certified funds.

Point & Pay's Convenience Fees:

  • VISA Debit Cards — $3.95/transaction
  • All Other Debit and Credit Cards — 2.5% of amount paid ($2 minimum)
  • e-Checks — $2 flat fee up to $10,000

*Point & Pay is a third-party payment service provider through which Sherman County can accept credit cards, debit cards, and e-checks for property tax payments.  Sherman County does not collect or retain any portion of the convenience fees charged by Point & Pay, nor do we collect or retain any customer credit card information.  Sherman County does not issue refunds for payments processed via Point & Pay.  If you have a question about charges to your account, please call the Tax Collector’s Office at (541) 565-3623.
