This is an email that Judge Dabulskis received today.  This is not a guarantee but they are hoping to open Cottonwood Canyon and Deschutes for day use ONLY.  Please read below.

Subject: Potential – Cottonwood Canyon and Deschutes Opening

In discussions with county officials and emergency services Cottonwood and Deschutes State Parks plan to open as follows:

Opened

  • White River Falls Day-Use open 7 AM-7 PM

Opening Wednesday 5-13

  • Cottonwood Canyon State Park Day-Use only—no backcountry/dispersed camping; vault and flush restrooms available
  • Deschutes River State Day-Use only—no backcountry/dispersed camping; vault toilet open

Closed

  • JS Burress/Cottonwood Bridge and Starvation Lane boat ramps which provide access to the John Day—John Day Boater Pass Permit System is Closed
  • Heritage Landing boat ramp which includes access to the Columbia and Deschutes—Deschutes Boater Pass Permit System is Closed
