Sherman County School District

Sherman Junior/Senior High School and the athletic complex are centrally located one mile South of Moro on Highway 97.  Sherman Elementary School in Grass Valley serves children in grades Kindergarten through six.  Sherman County Public/School Library is located at Sherman Jr/Sr High School.

The North Central Education Service District (ESD) serves Gilliam, Sherman, and Wheeler Counties' school districts. The North Central ESD provides a number of support services through the resolution process for six school districts covering over 3,700 square miles. Services include, but are not limited to: Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education services for children with disabilities, birth to kindergarten, print and graphic services, technology planning and support services, special education support personnel, assistance in curriculum development, Frontier Learning Network and meeting Oregon's School Reform Act requirements.

The North Sherman Preschool in Wasco is an Oregon Head Start Combination program serving 3 to 5 year olds and their families. The program nurtures and encourages social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth and development of the child. The curriculum fosters the development of ethnic pride, enhances individual strengths and develops skills in social relations. The program involves parent participation in the classroom.

The non-profit organization’s program is operated by the board of directors and staff and involves parent participation in the classroom.
